Probably very surprising for many, Iran has, almost unnoticed by the world implemented a basic income scheme in late 2010 (Godfrey Wood, 2010). Per person, an amount equivalent to 80 USD is paid every two months. More than 80% of Iranians have made an application. Cost of living in Iran is between 300 USD in Ghom, Iran’s cheapest city, and 650 USD in Tehran per month for a family (IRIB, 2015).

It is understandable that due to the meagre flow of information no evaluable data are available.
